Almost 4 Weeks Old

Our beautiful baby boy is almost 4 weeks old! Wow time isn't slowing down one bit. It's overwhelming and exciting all in the same breathe. I am absolutely loving every tiring second of being a mom. I wouldn't change it for anything.
Dax is doing pretty good. He is definitely getting chunky! I love his sweet little gummy smile and he already has such a big personality. He is colicky and it is so sad to see him in pain no matter what I do to help him. We are doing everything we can though to get through this stage in his life.
Brad is such a wonderful Dad. He is soaking up every second of it.
We are so excited that the weather is getting warmer here, I can't wait to be able to be outdoors again and Daxton will be the perfect age this summer to do some swimming this year. What an adventure our future is going to be with this little boy! I am so thankful for this opportunity that I have to be married to such a wonderful man and have this little boy in our lives.
Daxton is about 8 lbs now but still barely fits into his newborn clothes. Haha :)
It is difficult and funny because Daxton loves to sleep on his side, but he won't sleep unless he is either touching Brad or I. The minute I move away or even just try to jump in the shower he is wide awake and not happy about it! Silly kid... He is doing so well at lifting his head and hopefully we will see those smiles more frequently since he is almost to that age!
We are excited to be planning some fun things this summer. Daxton gets blessed on my Mom's birthday April 14th. We may be going to visit my family in Arizona end of May and in August too. We have my family coming here in July and a family reunion for Brads family in July too. Wow so many fun things!
We will post more later on this week.

Daxton's 2 Week Check Up

So our Daxton is 15 days old now! We had his two week appointment today and are happy to say he is 7 lb 6 oz. which is great since he lost a whole lb after delivery, so our goal was get back to his birth weight.
Poor Brad is still sick and I recovered which I great because late nights are much harder when you're sick.
Brad's going back to work tomorrow and things will go back to "normal". I ran a bunch or errands today with Daxton. Which made me realize how much harder life is with a baby. Haha. So much more goes into planning a day with a two week old in tow.
Daxton is trying so hard to lift his head. He is much more vocal and definately not sleeping like he was right after he was born. Darn it!
We are still loving every tiring second :)

Daxton Bradley Hutchings

Our amazing little angel finally arrived as you all know! We couldn't be happier with every little moment! We sure love this boy!!
His birth story isn't too crazy but figured we would write it out so family can hear about it! Tuesday February 26, 2013 I decided after lunch I was going to walk the mall knowing I had at doctor appointment the next morning thinking its help him to make his move! I left at 1:40 and got home by 4, the whole day Brad kept texting me for updates. We knew labor was getting close. Brad got home and we ran back to the mall to return something. We headed to Red Robin for dinner and I noticed at 6 my pain was definately increasing! We stayed and ate but I was timing them and talking to my mom. By 7 I was in enough pain we headed to the hospital. Car was ore packed though, we knew he'd come when we weren't home!
So we got hooked up and I was contracting every 2 minutes but after 5 painful hours and the morphine not working they sent us home. I was so upset. I didn't sleep because the contractions kept coming. I told Brad to rest for our doctor appointment the next morning and I paced the house trying to relieve pain unsuccessfully until 8:30.
At our appointment and to my amazement the doctor told us we were at a 4 and Daxton would be here today! I called our parents and off we went!
At the hospital I got the epidural and it worked great from 10:30 until 2. Then I could feel everything again! Ouch! Trying to ignore it we played cards and hung out with Brads parents. At 5 the doctor came in and said it time! Well by then my epidural was gone. Without it we pushed and found out quickly my extreme back pain was due to him being posterior. The doctor luckily rotated him saving me a lot of pain and only a bruised tailbone! By 5:41 our little boy came out screaming and Brad and I finally got to meet him! Dad got to cut the cord and we got to snuggle him the whole night!
We got to go home by Friday and Saturday at the doctor for Daxton found out his bilirubin level was too high so it was either hospital or home treatment if he was low enough. He made it by .4. Whew! He also was tongue tied and had to have his tongue snipped ouch! That was quickly over and he was his happy self in an hour! I ended up getting mastitis the next day and Brad got a sinus infection! Man it was tough!! Luckily my mom was here to save us and help so so much!!
We couldn't be luckier!! Brad has been the biggest help!! Along with our parents. It's been a wonderful 6 days! I can't believe it's going so fast! Brad and I got his baby pictures done today and have just spent time together. We love being parents and are excited to share our stories and future of this little boy with you all!

Love The Hutchings!!
